Timer vs. Downloading: What's the Difference?

By Yuumi | Published: October 26, 2025

In our Generator, the "Session Timer" module plays a central role for both live playback and creating offline files. While both functions rely on the "Duration" you set, they serve two very different purposes. Let's clarify when to use each one.

The Session Timer: For Live, In-Browser Playback

The Session Timer is primarily designed to control **live playback** directly from the website. When you use it, the audio is being generated in real-time by your browser.

The Download Button: For Creating Offline Audio Files

The "Download" button uses the same "Duration" value from the Session Timer, but for a completely different purpose: to define the **length of a portable audio file**.

The Key Takeaway

Think of it this way:

Use the **Play button + Timer** for listening **now**, on your computer.

Use the **Download button + Timer** to create a file for listening **later**, on any device.

Understanding this distinction unlocks the full flexibility of the generator. You can have interactive, live sessions when you're at your desk, and create a library of your favorite custom-made tracks for any situation on the go.
