When you're in deep sleep, your brain is dominated by slow Delta waves. As you naturally wake up, your brain activity cycles up through Theta, then Alpha (relaxed wakefulness), and finally into the Beta state (active alertness). A traditional alarm violently disrupts this process.
A binaural beat alarm works by creating an audio file that mimics this natural waking cycle, gently nudging your brainwaves upward instead of shocking them.
How to Build Your Gentle Alarm
We are going to create a short, 5-minute audio file that you can save to your phone and use as your daily alarm tone. The key is to use the **LFO (Modulation)** to create a frequency sweep.
The "Wake Up Sweep" Preset Recipe:

Set the Base Tone (Alpha):
- Set the **Beat Frequency** to **10 Hz**. This will be our starting point—a calm, relaxed state of wakefulness.
- Choose a pleasant **Carrier Frequency**, like **440 Hz**.
- Set the **Tone Volume** to a comfortable 70%.

Create the Sweep with the LFO:
- Enable the **LFO**.
- Set the LFO **Target** to **Beat Freq (Ramp)**. This is crucial.
- Set the LFO **Waveform** to **Sawtooth**. This will create a steady, upward ramp (a Sawtooth wave looks like /|/|/|).
- Set the LFO **Frequency** to a very, very slow **0.03 Hz**. This means one full ramp will take about 33 seconds.
- Set the LFO **Depth** to **100%**. This gives the LFO maximum control over the beat frequency.

- Go to the "Session Timer" panel.
- Set the **Duration** to **5 minutes**.
- Click the **"Download"** button and let it render.
How it Works: This preset starts at 10 Hz (Alpha) and slowly ramps up to 20 Hz (Beta) over about 16 seconds, then resets and ramps up again. Over 5 minutes, this gentle upward sweep will guide your brain from a "just awake" state to a "fully alert" state. It's like a gentle mental sunrise.
